Cookies & browser storage
Yarnfire uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in, navigation, requested preferences, and game features. Local storage is a device-storage technology even though it is not a cookie.
| Storage | Purpose / duration |
|---|---|
| yf_session cookie | Maintains signed-in crew access. Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict; maximum 30 days. Sign-out clears the active cookie/session. |
| yarnfire-navigation session storage | Supports the in-site Back control. Temporary navigation marker, consumed on navigation and limited to a browser session. |
| yarnfire-host-planner-v1 local storage | Stores planner choices and notes only when you enable “Keep my plan and notes on this browser.” Persists until removed. |
| Game-specific local/session storage | May hold requested scores, progress, favorites, preferences or keepsakes. Availability and persistence depend on the game. Use the feature’s controls or browser site-data settings. |
Your controls
Turn off planner storage or select “Forget saved planner data” in the planner. Use the applicable game’s memory controls for other saves. Your browser can block or clear site data; doing so may remove local progress or sign you out. Keep a safe copy of your private return link before clearing credentials. Browser clearing does not delete shared crew history.
We have not added advertising pixels or a marketing-cookie consent layer as part of the current legal update. This is not a blanket claim about every infrastructure-level security technology. Nonessential tracking must not be introduced without the required information and consent controls. Essential sign-in and security storage is distinguished from optional tracking.
